HISTORIC RECOGNITION FOR SU-JOK THERAPY IN THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

A LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENT FOR THE GLOBAL SU-JOK COMMUNITY

The International Sujok Association (ISA) is proud to announce a historic milestone in the global advancement of Su-Jok Therapy.

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, through Order No. 54 dated 19 May 2026, has approved the Standard for the Provision of Medical Care in the Field of Traditional Medicine in the Republic of Kazakhstan, establishing a comprehensive national framework for the practice of Traditional Medicine.

The newly approved Standard provides important official recognition for Su-Jok Therapy within Kazakhstan's healthcare system.

The Standard:

  • Defines Traditional Medicine as a codified system of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation authorized for medical use.

  • Defines Reflexotherapy as one of the recognized treatment methods of Traditional Medicine based on stimulation of biologically active points on the body.

  • Explicitly lists "Traditional Medicine (Su-Jok Therapy)" as an independent medical specialization requiring government-recognized professional certification.

Accordingly, the Standard establishes that Su-Jok Therapy is included within the broader legal framework of Traditional Medicine, while its clinical practice is organized under the Reflexotherapy profile for service delivery. At the same time, "Traditional Medicine (Su-Jok Therapy)" is expressly recognized as a separate certified specialization within the national qualification system. This wording reflects the structure of the Standard itself.

This establishes an official professional pathway for qualified practitioners to practice Su-Jok Therapy within the regulatory framework established by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan

This development represents a significant step in the continued institutional recognition of Su-Jok Therapy within national healthcare systems.

The International Sujok Association expresses its deepest appreciation to: Dr. Minchul Park Global President, International Sujok Association and Dr. Minkyu Park Global Vice president, International Sujok Association for their visionary global leadership, continuous dedication, and unwavering commitment to preserving, advancing, and promoting the scientific and medical development of Su-Jok Therapy throughout the world.

Their guidance continues the legacy of the Founder, Prof. Park Jae Woo, and inspires the worldwide Su-Jok community to achieve new milestones in education, research, clinical practice, and international recognition.

The International Sujok Association also extends its heartfelt congratulations and sincere appreciation to ISA–Kazakhstan for their outstanding efforts, dedication, and collaboration in supporting the advancement of Su-Jok Therapy within the Republic of Kazakhstan.

It is noteworthy that Center for Restorative Treatment and Rehabilitation of Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan provides services of oriental medicine: acupuncture, Su-Jok therapy, cupping therapy (vacuum therapy), jar massage, moxibustion and leech therapy.

This achievement reflects years of persistent academic, professional, and organizational work by the Su-Jok community in Kazakhstan and represents an important contribution to the global recognition of Su-Jok Therapy.

The approval of this Standard marks another significant chapter in the global development of Su-Jok Therapy.

By recognizing Traditional Medicine (Su-Jok Therapy) as a certified specialization within the national healthcare qualification system and incorporating its clinical practice within the broader Traditional Medicine and Reflexotherapy framework, Kazakhstan has established a clear regulatory foundation for education, certification, and professional practice.

The International Sujok Association remains committed to supporting governments, universities, healthcare institutions, and medical professionals worldwide in advancing safe, standardized, scientifically oriented, and patient-centered Su-Jok Therapy for the benefit of humanity.

Congratulations to the entire Global Su-Jok Family on this historic achievement.
