Sujok Therapy

    The true meaning of life

Man understands that true fulfillment in life requires a sound mind, a tranquil spirit, and a healthy body. Diseases hinder the enjoyment of life. Man therefore strives relentlessly to cure those diseases which prevent him from enjoying life to the fullest. The search for a healthy life, a life that is free of disease and unquiet, is a basic instinct of every person on earth.

It is this instinct that has given birth to various approaches to the prevention and cure of diseases. Thus the arts of medicine have been developing continuously from their earliest origins in pre-history to today. Whether western medicine, oriental medicine or folk medicine, the goal is the same: to prevent and treat those diseases which interfere with our enjoyment of a pleasant life.

The human body has the inherent ability to establish, maintain, and restore health. The healing process is ordered and intelligent; nature heals through the response to the life force. Nature knows that health and disease are conditions of the whole organism, involving a complex interaction of physical, spiritual, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental and social factors.

The physician’s role is to facilitate and augment this process. He must act to identify and remove obstacles to recovery and health. The body has enough potential to heal itself; the physician’s task is to provide the appropriate tools to allow it to do so. He must therefore treat the whole person, inasmuch as the harmonious functioning of all aspects of the individual is essential to the prevention of disease and recovery from it. This process requires a personalized and comprehensive approach to diagnosis and treatment.
Sujok Therapy provides such an approach, suggesting various treatment systems which are helpful and effective in improving and maintaining health.

The history of medical treatment—both traditional and non-traditional—is marked by many stages of development on the way to helping man cure disease. Sujok Therapy, a recent development, shows promise of treating almost all kinds of physical, mental, and emotional diseases. Innumerable medical professionals and general citizens, in hospitals and at home, have studied this treatment system since its discovery and have recorded outstanding results in curing illness.

Sujok Therapy is a precious contribution in the history of medicine.

The eminent scholar, scientist, and philosopher, Prof. Park, Jae Woo, worked over many years to carry out the task of developing this precious contribution to medical history. The Sujok Treatment System, which he developed, is the result of comprehensive research on the correspondence systems of the human body as found on the hands and feet. Thus, Sujok therapy springs from the observation of the similarity of areas of the hands and feet to the human body as a whole. Numerous research and clinical tests by scientists at research institutions, physicians specializing in alternative medicine, and ordinary people at home have proved the interaction between the hands and feet and the influence of activity on these areas on the whole organism.

Indeed, any person can easily discover for himself that the hands and the feet most resemble the structure and shape of the body. Stimulation of those areas on the hands and feet corresponding to the affected areas of the body leads to recovery. We understand the results of Sujok therapy on the body because we understand the curative powers of stimulation of the corresponding areas of the hand and feet. And because we understand the Universe itself, with man as its representative, as a hierarchic system with one common origin. Thus we see Sujok therapy as harnessing the similarities and connections of all of nature in the improvement of the human condition.
